Gunnison County is governed by an elected three member Board of County Commissioners serving four-year overlapping terms. Perks of the Gunnison Valley "The Gunnison Valley is famous for both summer and winter outdoor recreation. In summer, explore the two million acres of public lands by hiking and mountain biking. In winter, alpine skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort is unmatched. There are dozens of miles of scenic cross-country ski trails, too. Discounted Pet Insurance, and Gym Memberships Job Summary The Gunnison County Public Works Department is looking for a seasonal employee. Duties will include flagging for various road projects, cleaning out culverts, fencing, tree and brush removal, sign installation, servicing and cleaning pickup trucks and equipment when needed, assisting the recycling center and landfill, trail work, and much more. The schedule will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday (4
  • 10's), with possible overtime Monday through Friday. ½ hour lunch and two breaks per day
  • the employee is responsible for providing their own lunch and drinks each day. Employees may be unable to leave site for lunch. Pay Rate Starting hourly range is from $21.73 to $24.74 depending on experience, plus partial benefits.
  • The County pays monthly on the last week day of the month.
