Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures, ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal. Conduct custodial tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and sanitation of high-touch areas to uphold hygiene standards. Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers and industrial cleaning equipment with a focus on safety protocol adherence. Assist with light maintenance tasks like minor repairs or residential painting to support overall facilities upkeep. Follow safe lifting practices during heavy lifting activities to prevent injuries while moving furniture or bulky items. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supplies inventory, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with health regulations. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidates. Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners is advantageous. Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards is highly desirable. Experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles demonstrates a strong foundation for this position. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safety protocols diligently is essential. Customer service skills are a plus, especially when interacting with clients or building occupants during cleaning routines.
