POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sanitation Technician will work under direction of the Sanitation Manager in order to assist in day to day sanitation functions. The Sanitation Technician will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and ceilings, cleaning and stocking restrooms, dusting, and removing trash. This position will work closely with the quality department in maintaining a sanitary environment for food safety. This position may be responsible for operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and floor scrubbing equipment. Requires excellent observation and auditing skills and a good understanding of GMPs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with checking in vendors at main gate.
• Perform facility cleaning duties such as but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms etc.
• Utilizes cleaning agents and sanitation tools in order to clean and sanitize the facility
• Maintains communication with all departments
• Acts as a technical resource on cleaning materials which must be suitable for a food production facility
• May assist in sanitation swabbing
• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
• Complete accurate inventory counts and keep equipment and chemical storage areas clean and tidy.

Complete special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work independently and as a team Sanitation related experience in food, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time (I.e. gloves, lab coat, hair net) Must be able to lift 50 pounds Preferred Bilingual as a plus Basic computer skills Communication skills

Work Schedule:
