1 Position Summary We are looking for an Environmental Services Technician to join one of Central Florida's oldest and most established social service agencies. Our mission is to create housing solutions, provide compassionate homeless day services, and work alongside partners to inspire community action. The Environmental Services Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness who access services at the Day Services Center. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of both interior and exterior areas of the facility. Working in a high-traffic human services environment, the Environmental Services Technician supports the health, dignity, and safety of clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, sanitation, infection control, outdoor grounds maintenance, and occasional biohazard response in accordance with safety standards and organizational protocols. This role is essential to creating a space where individuals are treated with respect and where services can be delivered effectively and safely. Chief Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of restrooms, common areas, offices, intake spaces, and service areas
• Perform routine sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces multiple times daily
• Conduct outdoor cleaning including sidewalks, entryways, parking areas, and grounds
• Safely respond to and clean biohazard materials in accordance with OSHA and organizational safety standards
• Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Monitor and restock sanitation and hygiene supplies
• Identify and report facility maintenance needs or safety concerns
• Assist with room set-up and breakdown for programs or special events
• Support infection prevention practices and maintain sanitation logs as required
• Follow all safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Model professionalism and respectful interactions with clients at all times Qualities and Competencies

• Strong understanding of cleanliness and infection control principles
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a high-traffic service environment
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, stand, and work both indoors and outdoors
• Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
• Comfort handling occasional biohazard clean-up following proper training
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Basic problem-solving skills and situational awareness
• Clear communication skills
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, sanitation, or environmental services preferred
• Experience in healthcare, shelter, or high-traffic facilities strongly preferred
• Training in OSHA standards, bloodborne pathogens, or infection control preferred (or willingness to complete upon hire)
• Valid driver's license preferred
