Job Description
GLO Resources is currently looking for a Barge Washer to work at a busy marine facility in Port Allen, LA . The pay rate ranges between $17-$18 per hour depending on experience. The schedule is 7 days a week, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm with occasional overtime depending on project deadlines. Position Summary Maintain barges in clean, safe, and proper working condition by conducting inspections and performing routine washing and cleaning, while identifying maintenance concerns and clearly communicating findings to the barge maintenance team. Key Responsibilities Perform routine washing and cleaning of barges and barge covers to remove dirt, residue, and marine buildup. Operate pressure washers, pumps, hoses, and related cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Inspect barges during washing for damage, corrosion, or maintenance issues and report findings to the maintenance team. Ensure cleaning activities meet safety, environmental, and company compliance standards. Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper storage after use. Follow all safety procedures when working around water, at heights, and in confined spaces. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Qualifications 1-2 years' experience in barge, marine, or industrial work environment preferred. Shipyard experience is preferred Knowledge of barge washing techniques, including safe operation of pressure washers and use of appropriate cleaning agents. Bilingual is a plus. Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet and within confined spaces. Physical Requirements Lifting up to 50 lbs.
