PM Certifications/Licenses Required:

Massachusetts Class B CDL License, Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsement, Massachusetts 4E Hoisting License ability to obtain within six ( 6 ) months , Grade II ( 2 ) Collection Systems License ability to obtain within one ( 1 ) year, High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). SUMMARY The City of Chicopee's Department of Public Work's Water Pollution Control Division

• Combined Sewer Overflow is hiring a Special MEO who operates and maintains the City's collection systems, operates and maintains special equipment such as dump trucks, sewer jet rodder/vactor truck, rod truck, TV camera equipment and vehicle, hydraulic winch truck, power bucket machine, and other sewer cleaning/repairing equipment and vehicles.

Engages in the maintenance and repair of the City's collection systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE

Inspects, cleans, and repairs manholes, pipes, sewer lines, catch basins and all connected structures. Supervise assigned personnel in providing quality work assignments. Observes and instructs safe work habits. Uses power equipment and vehicles. Maintains written work and preventative maintenance work schedules. Gives both verbal and written reports on work assignments as needed. Originates and performs work orders and preventative maintenance/repair on the Collection System tools, equipment and vehicles. Operates, maintains, and repairs jet rodder/vactor truck, rod truck, TV camera, catch basin cleaner, hydraulic winch, bucket machine, and other sewer cleaning/repair equipment and vehicles. Works in sewers and in confined spaces. Performs lateral house connection cleaning and camera inspections as directed. Meets with the public and informs them of ongoing activities in regards to work assignments. Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) inspections maintenance and repairs. Submits verbal or written reports to City, MADEP, US EPA as required. Must work emergency on 'beeper' duty when needed. Performs all related duties as directed by the WPC Chief Operator or other supervising authority. Abides by City of Chicopee Health and Safety policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS

Massachusetts Class B CDL License.

• Required Massachusetts Class A CDL License
• Preferred Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsement.
• Required Massachusetts 4E Hoisting License ability to obtain within six ( 6 ) months.
• Required Grade II ( 2 ) Collection Systems License ability to obtain within one ( 1 ) year.
• Required Massachusetts Wastewater Operator's License.
• Preferred High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Required One ( 1 ) year related experience and/or training in the wastewater industry or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience .
• Required Working knowledge of sewer cleaning vehicles, equipment, and tools.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of pertinent Federal and State regulations.
