Hord Farms West Position Summary The Biosecurity Sanitation Technician is responsible for managing and performing the daily truck washing, sanitation, and biosecurity procedures for livestock and feed transportation equipment. This role plays a critical part in protecting animal health and supporting production through strict adherence to biosecurity and sanitation protocols. The position is hands-on and includes leadership responsibilities, facility oversight, and documentation. Key Responsibilities Truck Washing & Sanitation Perform thorough washing, disinfecting, and drying of livestock trailers, feed trailers, trucks, and related equipment Follow established biosecurity, wash, disinfect, and dry protocols Properly apply detergents, disinfectants, and sanitizers according to SOPs Ensure wash quality meets company and industry biosecurity standards Facility & Equipment Management Oversee daily operations of the truck wash facility Maintain wash bays, pressure washers, foaming equipment, heaters, pits, and drainage systems Manage wood chip usage and replacement to maintain clean, dry traffic areas Report facility or equipment issues promptly and assist with repairs Biosecurity & Compliance Enforce company biosecurity policies and PPE requirements Maintain accurate wash logs, disinfectant records, and compliance documentation Participate in audits and inspections as needed Safety Promote a safe work environment and follow all safety protocols Ensure proper chemical handling, storage, and labeling Use PPE correctly and ensure team compliance Qualifications Experience in livestock truck washing, swine production, transportation, or agricultural sanitation preferred Knowledge of biosecurity practices in the swine industry strongly preferred Ability to work in wet, cold, hot, and physically demanding environments Comfortable operating pressure washers and handling cleaning chemicals Strong attention to detail and accountability Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on concrete for extended periods Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Overtime opportunities Health and life insurance Paid time off and holidays Company-provided PPE and safety gear
