Job Description

The City of Cameron seeks to hire a part time, seasonal operator for its Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste collection site for the remainder of the 2026-2027 operating season. This seasonal position runs from May through October, two Saturdays a month.
The operator responsibilities include:
greeting customers; keeping a log of participants; intaking and organizing approved household hazardous materials; accepting and offloading approved electronic waste into containers; reporting operational progress to coordinator; and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be courteous and professional, have experience/training handling hazardous materials, be able to stand for long periods and withstand outdoor conditions, be able to lift at least 50 pounds, be punctual, reliable and able to perform job tasks under limited supervision. The position begins August 8 and runs through June 30, 2027. Training and (personal protective equipment) PPE will be provided. Hourly pay of $20 for up to 80 hours during collection season and 20 hours during off-season.
