The Sanitation Technician position is chiefly responsible for cleaning and sanitizing Joyce Farms poultry production plant to meet Quality Control standards imposed by applicable government agencies, such as USDA. The hours for this position are approximately 10pm to 7am Essential Job Functions/Duties Below is a brief outline of the essential job functions and duties, which may be adjusted by management from time to time. 1. Clean and sanitize processing areas after first shift processing is complete, to include walls, floors, ceilings, and equipment. 2. Complete all paperwork daily to include sanitation records for USDA verification in an accurate and legible manner. 3. Disassemble and Reassemble equipment when necessary to configure for production operations. 4. Squeegee floors and shovel excess product into condemn barrels. 5. Comply with all lock out tag out procedures to safely deactivate assigned equipment. 6. Pre-rinse, apply soap foam, and rinse assigned equipment and areas. 7. Self-inspect areas for cleaning adequacy. 8. Complete condemned product dumps in accordance with Offal procedures. 9. Maintain positive communications with and provide required support to sanitation personnel to ensure continuity of plant operations. 10. Continuous improvement mindset (always question processes, eliminate wastes, and work toward optimization) Qualifications & Education Requirements 11. High school graduate or equivalent required, but relevant work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Preferred Skills 12. Prior sanitation experience preferred, but not required. 13. Will primarily work in a cold, wet environment, and must be able to transition from wet and cold to dry and dusty environments without issue. 18. May be required to lift, push, pull 50 pounds within an 8 hour or more period. 19. May be required to frequently sit, stand or walk within an 8 hour or more period. 20. Must wear PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection. 21. Must be analytical and think critically. 22. Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others. 23.
