Solid Waste Department The City of Nashua is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Division of Public Works in the Solid Waste Department as a Collection Equipment Operator. Take your career to the next level with us as opportunities for growth and development await!
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for operating a variety of different trucks including but not limited to solid waste, bulky items, recycling and yard waste collection trucks. Duties include collecting all types of waste, performing daily and routine safety and service inspections on vehicles and ensuring vehicles are properly cleaned and maintained. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 3, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $29.20.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must have 6-12 months similar or related work experience Considerable working knowledge of streets within the City A thorough knowledge of hazards and safety equipment involved in the solid waste industry Must have a high school diploma or certified equivalent Must possess a valid CDL-B driver's license
