Back Water / Wastewater Utility Worker
- 24792 Utility Worker Contract 11533 Sep 9, 2026 Rio Rancho , New Mexico We are seeking a Water / Wastewater Utility Worker for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems. Hours are Monday
- Friday, 7:00am
- 3:30pm
- This position has an on-call schedule
- Responsibilities
- Install, operate, locate, maintain and repair water distribution infrastructure including water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, PRVs and meters
- Establishes and maintains effective sample procedures for water lines; diagnose system operating problems; performs necessary corrective and remedial activities
- Performs routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems
- Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationary and potable equipment
- Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment
- Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products
- Digs, refills ditches and trenches
- Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings
- Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management
- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- Knowledge in the operations and maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment, farm machinery and pumps is highly preferred Apply Now Share This Post
