Job Description

FLSA Status:
Non Exempt Primary Purpose To help keep the plant and operations clean and sanitary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Use sanitation chemicals, hoses, brushes, foamers, high pressure washers, and high pressure nozzles to clean and sanitize in a group and alone to clean and sanitize tools, surfaces and equipment. 2. Move, lift, climb, and crawl under processing equipment to access and clean and sanitize all areas. 3. Carry and move tubs, buckets, parts and equipment from one area to another for cleaning. 4. Handle waste and recyclable materials. 5. Clean lunchrooms and restrooms. 6. Drive powered industrial trucks. 7. Since this is a relatively specialized position and very few people can perform the tasks required for this position, regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this department. Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities Non-essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned to achieve the primary purpose or other purposes as determined by the company. Minimum Qualifications 1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English or Spanish. 2. Ability to read and understand labels, decals, and signs in English or Spanish. 3. Physical strength and stamina required to perform the work. Physical Demands• 1. Continuously stand and walk. 2. Regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl and climb. 3. Frequently lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds. 4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Work Environment• 1. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, hazardous chemicals, and a loud noise level. 2. Frequently exposed to cold and heat. 3. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
