Job Description
Medium Equipment Operator (Internal Applicants Only) Yamhill County has two regular, full-time positions for Medium Equipment Operators. In this role you will operate moderately complex automotive equipment; perform skilled manual tasks and do other related work as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the direct supervision of a Supervisor or Lead Worker of a higher grade who assigns duties, observes performance, and inspects work for conformance to road maintenance standards.SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May exercise working supervision over a few assistants or laborers engaged in semi-skilled tasks.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITIONS ASSIGNED TO THIS CLASSIFICATION. DEPENDING ON ASSIGNMENT, THE EMPLOYEE MAY PERFORM A COMBINATION OF SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING DUTIES
- Truck driver
- operates dump trucks and trucks over 36,000 lbs. GVW in hauling and dumping construction materials for road and bridge maintenance activities, including trailers and attachments.
- Brush Cutter
- operates heavy tractor in cutting brush along roadsides and rights-of-way.
- Heavy Roller Operator
- operates rollers over 6 tons in asphalt and sub-grade operations.
- Backhoe
- operates backhoe in ditching and culvert installation operations.
- Aqua Tech Flusher
- operates culvert flushing equipment in cleaning and maintaining drainage systems.
- Loader operator
- operates rubber-tire front-end loaders in loading materials and related tasks.
- Force Feed Loader

- State laws pertaining to the operation of motor vehicles and equipment on roads and highways.
