Seeking a Utility Worker to support the operation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and street infrastructure. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary field role covering everything from water line repairs to street paving and snow removal.
Pay:
$22.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, repair, and maintain water distribution systems, storm drains, sewer collection systems, and lift stationsPerform street maintenance duties, including paving, patching, sign maintenance, concrete repair, and snow removalInstall, repair, and read water meters; exercise valves; perform water shut-offs and turn-onsRepair and install manholes and cleanouts; clean debris from catch basinsOperate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on light and heavy equipment (backhoe, loader, sewer cleaner, welders)Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and toolsRespond to after-hours emergencies as part of on-call rotationRespond to customer service requests and maintain positive public relationsUse utility locator service prior to any excavationFollow all safety rules and procedures; maintain clean, orderly work areasReport public hazards (potholes, fallen signs, water leaks) to lead worker or supervisorComplete records and reports related to daily activitiesMay assist other public works departments as needed
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseSome prior experience in water distribution, sewer collections, or street maintenance
Work Environment:
