Job Title:
Sanitation Technician - 3rd Shift Job Description This 3rd shift Sanitation Technician role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient juice production environment by operating sanitation and juice-making equipment, performing start-up and shut-down procedures, and supporting overall production quality. You will work from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. as part of a small, team-oriented crew in an industrial facility, ensuring equipment and production areas meet cleanliness and operational standards. Responsibilities Operate various types of juice-making equipment to maintain consistent quantity and quality of juice, adjusting machinery and product settings as needed. Monitor and justify yield and operational procedures, taking accountability for production output and process adherence. Recognize routine maintenance issues and resolve them promptly to minimize downtime and maintain safe operation. Train and instruct other employees on proper sanitation, equipment operation, and safety procedures as required. Keep the juice preparation area clean and organized throughout the shift, including during active production. Perform all start-up and shut-down procedures for juice-making and sanitation equipment according to established guidelines. Assist Quality Control personnel by gathering product samples and supporting testing requirements. Operate the Clean-In-Place (CIP) system as needed to clean and sanitize equipment and lines. Operate a forklift occasionally to move materials, drums, or equipment when required. Provide relief coverage for other juice preparation personnel as needed to support continuous operations. Use a pressure washer to clean and sanitize equipment, floors, and production areas safely and effectively. Perform general sanitation and utility tasks, including cleaning facilities, removing waste, and supporting production housekeeping. Carry out other related duties as directed to support overall sanitation, production efficiency, and team objectives. Essential Skills Comfort using a pressure washer for cleaning and sanitation tasks. Prior sanitation experience in an industrial or production environment. General production experience, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing. Reliable transportation to and from the job site for 3rd shift hours (8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.). Comfort working in a team-oriented environment with a small crew. Ability to pass a company-paid physical examination. Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow instructions, safety procedures, and documentation. Ability to move up to 70 lbs occasionally and maneuver 600 lb drums occasionally using appropriate methods or equipment. Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for measurements, yields, and basic production data. Ability to work rotating shifts as required by production needs. Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively. Basic mechanical aptitude to recognize and address routine maintenance issues on equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience, including operating in an industrial or production environment. Facilities cleaning experience, such as cleaning large industrial areas, equipment, or utilities. Experience operating or supporting Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems. Experience in utility or general machine operation within a production setting. Military experience, which can be helpful for following procedures, working in structured environments, and operating equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial production facility on the 3rd shift, typically from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with rotating shifts as needed. You will work as part of a small team of about five people in a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on sanitation and juice production. The work involves operating and cleaning industrial juice-making equipment, using pressure washers, common hand tools, and occasionally forklifts and Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems. The environment includes exposure to wet conditions, cleaning chemicals, and moving machinery, and requires regular lifting and maneuvering of heavy items such as drums. Dress typically includes appropriate industrial or production attire, with required personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, protective clothing, and other PPE as needed for sanitation and safety. The setting emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and clear communication to maintain a clean, efficient, and compliant production operation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fleetwood, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
