Job Description

The wastewater laborer position is responsible to help operate, monitor and maintain the wastewater treatment facility and its collection system. Installation, maintenance and repair of plant and pump station equipment. Lab sampling and testing. Other duties include grounds keeping, housekeeping of the buildings and snow plowing. Position requires weekend work and holiday shifts on a rotating basis. Weekends and holidays are a short shift at overtime rate. Minimum starting salary $20 depending on qualifications and experience. Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL license within probationary period. Safety is a priority. Mechanical knowledge is a must. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
Plant Maintenance:
Clean and maintain the plant equipment and buildings.
System Maintenance:
Clean and maintain sewer lines, manholes, and pump stations to prevent blockages.
Equipment Operation:
Operates machinery such as flusher truck, sewer camera, pickup trucks, skid loader and mowers.
Inspection & Repair:
Conducts routine inspections of machinery, pumps, and motors, and assists in repairs.
Safety & Compliance:
Adheres to strict safety protocols, including confined space entry, and reports malfunctions.
Groundskeeping:
Maintains site appearance by mowing, painting, and cleaning treatment facilities. Other Duties as Assigned.
