Summary:
Circulate through the district and civic spaces, utilizing an ATLV or riding litter vacuum, sweeping up trash, litter, leaves, and power washing sidewalks and other public space items. This work will usually be conducted by a team towing a large power washing unit and/or driving a large sweeper and will generally take place early in the morning.
Pay Rate:
$20.55/hourly

Wed. - Sun. Wed., Thu. & Fri. from 4:00am to 12:30pm Sat. & Sun. from 6:00am to 2:30pm
Essential Functions:
With pride, we make public spaces friendly and vibrant for the communities we serve. Circulates through assigned work zone in the district or civic spaces completing manual and /or mechanical cleaning of needed items/spaces. Operates large hot water power unit to clean sidewalks, plazas, street furniture or any other areas in need of cleaning. Operates ATLV or litter vacuum to sweep up litter, debris, leaves etc. Follows all safety protocols to safeguard equipment, vehicles and pedestrians while operating equipment. Troubleshoots and provides basic daily maintenance such as cleaning filters, emptying hoppers etc. Reports issues to supervisor immediately. Watches for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and reports to Operations Manager via observe and report through two-way radios. Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers. Seeks to actively engage or acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identifies visitors in order to provide directions, information, city information or recommendations. Provides written reports via SMART system of broken infrastructure, graffiti, and provides a basic daily report of inspections, accomplishments and tasks completed. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports. Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism. Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive a pickup truck towing a trailer with power washing unit on it and/or drive a large ATLV or riding litter vacuum. Must possess the physical capacity to stand and traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty-minute meal break). Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
