Under general supervision, trains on and operates related divisional equipment to move, load, and push different materials. Provides routine maintenance and repair on equipment. Reports to the Landfill Supervisor.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Assists in recycling of materials and bales cardboard. Operates and utilizes various related equipment and machinery to include fork loader, rack hoe, rubber tire bull dozer, bucket loader, dump truck, hydro-seeder, lawn mower, roll off truck, tractor, compost screener, portable pump, steam cleaner, two-way radio, weed-eater, lawnmower, fire extinguisher, etc. Moves debris into piles, loads, hauls and handles site materials as required. Assists the division in maintaining and keeping the site clean to include shop, SWA 6 building and administration building. Removes recycled materials from construction and demolition site and moves to specific areas for recycling. Interacts and communicates with various related groups and individuals to include customers, supervisors, co-workers, other Authority personnel, etc. Vacuums, mops, sweeps, empties trash at Administrative Office. Performs other related duties/assignments as required.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to physically operate an automobile and variety of light and heavy equipment and machinery. Skills in the use and upkeep of small tools and equipment. Ability to perform manual labor such as lifting, and handling of equipment and supplies.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to exert up to seventy-five pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to complete a pre-trip inspection and complete proper paperwork. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School graduate or equivalent. Vocational or technical training in heavy equipment operation preferred but not mandatory. Experience in operating related machinery. Valid South Carolina Driver's license.
