In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing recyclable materials during overnight shifts, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Your proactive approach will help us maintain clean, safe, and environmentally responsible waste management operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a great team during nighttime hours while making a meaningful impact on company recycling initiatives. Duties Operate material handling equipment such as loaders, forklifts to sort, regrind, load, and transport recyclable materials. Manage recyclable materials handling processes in accordance with environmental compliance standards and hazardous materials regulations. Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment and safety gear to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety protocol adherence. Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing regular cleaning and sanitation tasks to promote a safe working environment. Assist in landfill management activities including waste sorting, debris removal, and ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed. Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during operations to prevent accidents or injuries. Document operational activities accurately through shift reports, equipment logs, and incident reports as needed. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, forklifts, or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on material handling equipment. Strong understanding of recycling processes, and material handling practices. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and safety regulations related to manufacturing work environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting (50 lbs) safely and efficiently during material handling tasks. Prior experience working during night shifts is preferred but not required.
