Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, and facility surfaces in a manufacturing plant. This role ensures compliance with food safety standards, supports production readiness, and maintains a hygienic environment.
Shift Time:
8:00pm
  • 8:30am, 2 days on
  • 2 days off
  • 3 days on
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and sanitize equipment including vats, presses, cutters, conveyors, and packaging machinesPerform Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out-of-Place (COP) procedures using appropriate chemical concentrations and temperaturesDisassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaningMaintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, ceilings, and overhead pipingConduct pre-operational inspections and complete sanitation logs.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and company sanitation protocolsSafely handle and store cleaning chemicals and suppliesIdentify and report equipment damage or sanitation issuesParticipate in continuous improvement and safety programsComplete tasks according to the Master Sanitation Schedule
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
High school diploma or General Education Diploma requiredMinimum (1) one year of sanitation experience in food manufacturing preferred; dairy or cheese experience a plusAbility to work in wet, humid, and cold environmentsHACCP and GMP trainingForklift certificationExperience with CIP systemsBilingual (English/Spanish) a plusFamiliarity with sanitation chemicals and safety data sheets (SDS)Strong attention to detail and ability to follow proceduresCapable of lifting to 50 lbs. and climbing on ladders and confined spaces Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Office environment usually quietOccasionally required to maneuver plant and warehouse workspaces which involve:

Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing, working around loud machinery and moving parts, Continually utilize hand and finger dexterity, exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, exposed to outside weather conditions, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds safely
