Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Sanitation Technician to join our 3rd shift team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within our manufacturing or food processing environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a sanitized, safe, and compliant workspace by performing industrial cleaning tasks using appropriate chemical agents and sanitation procedures. Your efforts will directly contribute to product quality, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment for all team members. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of production areas, equipment, and facilities using industrial cleaning techniques and chemical agents. Handle chemical substances safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection when necessary. Conduct sanitation procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Operate cleaning tools and machinery efficiently, including heavy lifting equipment when required, to facilitate thorough cleaning processes. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and sanitation activities to ensure traceability and compliance. Assist in the setup and breakdown of cleaning supplies and equipment for daily sanitation routines. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to verify that sanitation standards are met consistently across all areas. Qualifications Proven experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial roles within manufacturing, food production, or warehouse environments. Knowledge of chemical agent handling and safety protocols related to industrial cleaning. Familiarity with GMP standards, food processing environments, or manufacturing sanitation requirements is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of routine cleaning duties. Strong understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) use, respiratory protection protocols, and chemical handling safety procedures. Prior experience with food processing or manufacturing environments is a plus. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
