Full Job Description Work Environment:
The SWPPP Street Sweeper is responsible for safely operating and maintaining a street sweeper while traveling between jobsites. This position requires someone who is dependable, adaptable, mechanically minded, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced outdoor environment. The ideal candidate is a jack-of-all-trades who can manage changing priorities, communicate effectively with field crews and customers, and assist with additional SWPPP duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely operate a street sweeper between jobsites while following company policies, traffic laws, and safety requirements. Complete required vehicle inspections and monitor equipment condition and performance. Perform routine street sweeper maintenance and minor adjustments, including replacing or adjusting brooms, curtains, belts, and related components. Keep the street sweeper clean, maintained, and in good working condition. Plan and adjust daily routes and schedules based on project priorities and jobsite needs. Communicate professionally with superintendents, builders, project managers, customers, and field crews. Complete Work Orders, time records, schedules, equipment records, and other required documentation. Troubleshoot routine field issues and work independently to keep assigned work moving. Assist with physical and seasonal SWPPP duties, including sweeping, shoveling, snow removal, mowing, weed-eating, and moving materials. Assist field crews and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and Class B CDL required; Class A CDL preferred. Equipment operation and maintenance experience required; construction, SWPPP, excavation, or heavy civil experience preferred. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Office. Strong organization, communication, customer-service, and problem-solving skills. Dependable, self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to learn. Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. Physical Requirements This position requires outdoor work in changing weather conditions and frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing, and other physical activity. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds and safely operate, inspect, clean, and maintain equipment.
