Job Description

Salt Truck Operator Alt's Operation - 3.5 Verona, WI Job Details Part-time | Seasonal | Full-time $32 - $38 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Dental insurance 401(k) matching Safety equipment provided Qualifications Loader operation Truck loading and unloading Skid steer loader Full Job Description Salt Truck Operator | $32-$38/hr Earn strong winter pay driving a salt route that keeps properties open through the storm, load your own truck by skid steer, and earn a shot at year-round work. When the snow flies, you're the one who keeps things moving. Drive a salt route through the storm. Load your own truck with the skid steer. Earn strong seasonal pay, plus a real shot at year-round work. Be part of the crew your community counts on. What You'll Own Keep commercial and residential properties clear by running your salt route the moment a storm hits. Load your own truck, operate a skid steer to fill the salt spreader, and get back on the road fast. Read the storm and the route: hit the no-tolerance sites first, then work through the rest and keep every property covered. Drive cautiously in tough winter conditions, protecting your truck, your load, and everyone else on the road. Keep your equipment storm-ready with pre- and post-run checks and basic maintenance. Stay in contact with your manager through the event so nothing gets missed. What You Bring A valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record. This is a driving role, and every driver's motor vehicle record is reviewed. The ability to operate a skid steer to load salt (required). This is a seasonal winter role (roughly November through April) with on-call storm response: nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts when snow hits. We aim to clear our properties within about 12 hours of a storm, so when it snows, we need you ready. Reliability when the weather turns. That's exactly when this job matters most. The physical stamina to work long, on-call shifts outdoors in cold, snow, and ice, climbing in and out of the truck and handling bagged salt as needed. A CDL is not required, but if you have one, it's a pay raise. Some of our trucks are over 26,000 lbs and require a CDL. Why Alt's Operation Competitive seasonal pay of $32-$38/hr, with a pay bump for CDL holders. Uniforms and PPE provided. Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for hours over 40 in a week. While part time roles do not include benefits, moving to full time would make you eligible for a 401(k) with company match, plus health, dental, life and disability insurance. A real path to year-round work: strong seasonal performers can move into summer roles in lawn maintenance, landscaping, hardscape, or skid steer operation, based on experience and fit. Steady storm work with one of the largest snow and ice operations in the area. Snow is nearly half of what we do, so the hours are there when it snows. Well-maintained trucks and equipment, and a crew that has your back through every event. A family-oriented company, 13 years in business and growing, where showing up when it counts gets noticed. Where You'll Shine Be the driver people rely on when the weather turns. Keep your community moving through the worst of winter. And turn one strong season into a year-round career with a growing team. About Alt's Operation Alt's Operation is a growing, family-oriented outdoor company based in Verona, WI, serving Dane County for 13 years. Snow and ice management is nearly half of our business, so our winter crews are the backbone of what we do, and we take care of the people who show up when it matters. Every driver's motor vehicle record will be reviewed, and CDL drivers complete a pre-employment drug screening. People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply. Ready to earn strong winter pay and a shot at year-round work? [Apply Today]. Alt's Operation is an equal opportunity employer.
