Requirements & Qualifications Previous busser, food runner, or restaurant support experience preferred, but not required Strong sense of urgency, awareness, and attention to detail Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude Ability to stay organized and composed in a fast-paced dining environment Passion for hospitality and creating a clean, welcoming guest experience Ability to anticipate team and guest needs proactively Strong communication skills and willingness to support all areas of service Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards Comfortable working in a physically active role for extended periods of time Ability to safely lift and carry trays, dishes, glassware, and supplies up to 50 pounds Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire) Professional appearance, strong hygiene, and polished hospitality standards Desire to grow within hospitality and learn all aspects of restaurant service Responsibilities & Expectations Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and efficiently according to Avli Winnetka service standards Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining room throughout service Refill water glasses, replenish table settings, and assist with guest needs proactively Support servers, bartenders, hosts, runners, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and seamless service flow Assist with running food and delivering support items accurately and efficiently Polish and restock glassware, silverware, plates, and service supplies throughout shifts Maintain clean and fully stocked service stations at all times Monitor dining room flow and table readiness with awareness and urgency Assist with opening, closing, side work, and deep cleaning responsibilities Remove dishes, trash, recycling, and soiled linens promptly and safely Respond to guest requests warmly and communicate larger guest needs to servers or managers immediately Help maintain a lively, welcoming, and polished dining room atmosphere Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining, service, and support areas throughout the shift Support teammates wherever needed with a positive, professional, and team-first attitude Take pride in contributing to the overall guest experience through attentiveness, cleanliness, and hospitality Remain coachable, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow within the restaurant
