Position Summary The Buyer is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials, goods, and services critical to APN's production success. This role combines tactical purchasing with strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives. The Buyer will work cross-functionally to support operational goals, enhance supplier performance, and maintain inventory levels aligned with production demands and organizational growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Develop supplier partnerships to improve cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance. Analyze market trends and raw material dynamics to anticipate pricing shifts and mitigate supply risks. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with business objectives. Support cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives through competitive bidding and supplier negotiations. Operational Execute the procurement process for assigned goods and services, ensuring timely and accurate purchase order creation. Maintain supplier price lists, contracts, and purchase order records within the company's ERP system. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, and service requirements. Optimize inventory levels to balance production readiness with cost control. Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives as needed. Additional Support process improvement initiatives within the procurement and supply chain function. Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 2+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment required. Strong negotiation, data analysis, and supplier relationship management skills. ERP/MRP experience required (Sage preferred); proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Certifications such as CPSM or CSCP are a plus.

Physical Requirements This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and may be required to access various areas of the facility, including the warehouse and production floor. Work Environment This role operates primarily in an office environment with periodic access to warehouse or production areas, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, or temperature fluctuations. Standard business hours apply, with occasional extended hours based on operational needs.
