POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager is the primary supervisor of the dispensary's operations and personnel. The GM has direct authority, management, and supervision over all shop personnel who play a role in the retail sale of cannabis products. Our General Manager is strong in both technical skills and soft skills, leading by example, as well as maintaining a safe and respectful work environment. Our ideal General Manager holds themselves as well as their team accountable in all aspects of daily operations while simultaneously training and developing their subordinates to bring them up to Catalyst standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures compliance with all state and local ordinances to maintain the integrity of the store's license Directly supervises the activity within the dispensary to include staff training and education Provides management and demonstrates leadership in the dispensary capacity Manages member specific logs as required (the receipt, storage and auditing of all inventory), is responsible for informing the chief purchasing officer on ordering new inventory and supplies as necessary Deescalates and diffuses member-staff conflicts to maintain a harassment-free work environment Supervises assistant managers and performs inventory control actions such as receiving, counting and inspecting for quality and compliance; resolves all inventory discrepancies Oversees documentation of all inventory movements to be recorded in the company's and state's track and trace system (METRC) to identify the proper location and quantity of product at all times Oversees compliance inspections for every inbound shipment Develops and maintains a product locator system and ensures the optimal utilization of storage spaces Responsible for the security and confidentiality of all patient information, as well as overall compliance with HIPAA Directs and monitors assistant managers to accomplish daily tasks, consistent with established procedures Maintains records required by law and ensures quality assurance plans, including but not limited to plans to detect, identify, and prevent dispensing errors related to product packaging and labeling Manages and implements policies and procedures for the return of cannabis products from customers, the storage and/or disposal of such products, and meets reporting requirements for adverse events/product recall Implements HR policies and programs in support of company initiatives; directs all compliance efforts for the company to minimize risk Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement; consults with Regional Manager Conduct performance reviews with employees and monitor employee productivity, attitudes, and performance results; consults with Regional Manager Responsible for disciplinary action and maintaining a staff that meets company standards Works with IT to ensure all operations related technology and software is up to date and running smoothly Recruits, interviews, hires and retains top quality staff for each department Manages leave administration practices Maintains excellent facilities conducive to enhancing employee productivity Provides company-wide communication and communicates personnel changes to HR, RM, and Ops Ensures employee safety, wellness, and health and welfare in compliance with OSHA, DFEH, and CA Labor Law Works directly with Compliance to facilitate any DCC or city/state mandated audits and inspections
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have at least 2 years of recent retail management experience; cannabis sales experience preferred Be at least 21 years of age Ability to pass a comprehensive background/Live Scan check if required by shop locality Must adhere to Employee Handbook policies and job description duties Must be able to individually lift up to 50lbs Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time
