The Flex Snow Removal Technician (Seasonal) is a flexible, part-time role that helps to maintain safe and accessible pathways and common areas within the Tahoe Keys community during the winter months. This position is seasonal and will run through the winter season, depending on snowfall. This is a variable-schedule position with no guaranteed minimum hours or regularly scheduled shifts. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays based on coverage needs. Associates may accept or decline offered shifts based on their availability and are expected to reliably report for shifts they accept.
Compensation:
$20-25/hr FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Your Responsibilities:
Snow Removal:
Clear snow from walkways, driveways, parking lots, and common areas using snow blowers, shovels, plows, and other equipment.
De-icing:
Apply salt or de-icing solutions to prevent the formation of ice and ensure safe walking and driving conditions.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on snow removal equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Reporting:
Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to the supervisor promptly.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate snow removal efforts and respond to weather-related emergencies.
Safety:
Prioritize safety at all times, using proper techniques and equipment to minimize the risk of injury.
Customer Service:
Provide courteous and professional customer service to residents and guests, addressing their snow removal concerns and inquiries.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including snowfall measurements and materials used. Scheduling & Hours This is a part-time, variable-schedule position. There are no guaranteed minimum hours or regularly scheduled shifts. Shifts may be offered based on operational coverage needs, including call-outs, vacations, leaves of absence, vacancies, special events, or other staffing needs. Associates may accept or decline offered shifts based on their availability without penalty. Associates are not required to remain available or on standby between accepted shifts. Once a shift is accepted, the associate is expected to report as scheduled and comply with applicable attendance and call-out procedures. The amount and frequency of available work will vary based on business needs.
Skills & Qualifications:
Prior experience in snow removal or a related field is preferred but not required. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, including snow removal equipment. A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work in cold and adverse weather conditions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Valid driver's license

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and mobile enough to walk up to two (2) miles on sidewalks, trails, turf, and uneven slopes. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
