We're looking for dependable, hardworking people to join our kitchen team and help fuel the camp experience from the inside out. Position Overview As a Camp Kitchen Helper, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly during camp sessions and events. From food prep to cleanup, you'll work alongside our kitchen staff to make sure meals come together and the space stays clean and organized. If you're someone who takes pride in doing good work, likes being part of a team, and doesn't mind staying on the move, this role is a great fit. Key Responsibilities Assist with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients Help with cooking and serving meals during camp sessions as directed Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently Keep kitchen and dining areas clean throughout the day, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces Restock supplies, condiments, and serving items as needed Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Support the kitchen team with general tasks as they come up Qualifications Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs Willingness to take direction and pitch in wherever the kitchen needs support Previous experience in a kitchen, food service, or camp environment is a plus, but not required Positive attitude and a team-first approach to the workday Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $13/hour On-site meals available during camp sessions Housing may be available depending on length of employment and camp schedule YLA is an equal opportunity employer.
