Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry Level Steel Detailer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in creating precise steel fabrication and erection drawings, supporting the construction and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a career in structural detailing, providing hands-on experience with industry-standard CAD and 3D modeling software. Your contributions will help ensure the accurate translation of design concepts into detailed plans that facilitate efficient steel fabrication and installation. Responsibilities Assist in developing detailed steel shop drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, or Revit, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. Support the creation of 3D models and visualizations using Tekla Structures to enhance project clarity and coordination. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret schematics, system designs, and construction documents for steel detailing projects. Prepare detailed schematics and technical drawings that communicate precise measurements, connections, and assembly instructions for steel components. Utilize Bluebeam or other PDF editing tools to review, annotate, and manage project documentation efficiently. Participate in quality control processes by verifying drawings against project requirements and standards before submission. Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation to support seamless project execution. Generation and distribution of CNC files to the in-house steel fabricators and machinery operators for automated material processing Experience Recent graduation or internship experience in drafting, CAD design, or structural engineering is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, SolidWorks or similar tools is highly desirable. Basic understanding of schematics, system design principles, construction processes, and mechanical or interior design concepts is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Eagerness to learn new software tools and industry practices in a fast-paced environment.
