64 Per Hour Add'l Salary Info Salary placement is dependent on experience related to the position, plus educational unit incentive pay opportunities Length of Work Year 6.5/hours per day for 202 days a year Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Site Principal, oversee and monitor the behavior of students on school campuses and at school-sponsored activities both on and off campus; provide general supervision of bus pick-up and drop-off areas; enforce applicable sections of the Education Code, Penal Code, District policies, and school rules; and assist in maintaining an orderly and safe campus. Providing high-quality recess experiences that are grounded in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), the Recess Engagement Specialist provides active supervision of students during recess and other non-core periods while facilitating structured playground activities and games that promote positive student interaction, cooperation, and safe play. Reinforcing PBIS and social-emotional learning expectations, incumbents interact with students and staff daily to foster engagement and belonging, encourage student participation, model appropriate social behavior and support consistent routines that contribute to a safe and positive playground environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
>Provide active supervision of students in assigned campus areas during recess and other non-classroom periods to maintain a safe and orderly environment. >Patrol campus areas during school hours to monitor student behavior and remain alert to situations that may disrupt the educational process or create safety concerns. >Intervene or report situations likely to result in disruption, injury, or damage to property in accordance with school procedures. >Direct students to refrain from unsafe or inappropriate conduct and reinforce school behavior expectations. >Observe and monitor student behavior to identify potential safety concerns or conflicts and respond appropriately. With approximately 1,700 students, the area consists of several necessary small schools, K-8 schools, and one comprehensive high school. Mariposa County has several rural communities that surround Yosemite National Park and are centrally located in California to provide a day's drive to old-growth forests, deserts, coastal communities, and cities. The area is suited for those interested in outdoor activities and rural community life.
