You are being redirected Once you are on the page, please click the refer button Job Overview Qualifications Benefits Job Overview The Capital Asset Claims & Valuation Analyst is responsible for evaluating supplier claims related to capital investments (e.g., tooling, equipment, and facilities) resulting from program cancellations or scope changes. This role is centered on fair market valuation (FMV) and benchmarking of industrial capital assets to support fact-based settlement decisions. The position combines financial analysis, engineering understanding, and commercial judgment to determine what assets are worth in the open market and what portion of supplier claims is economically justified. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that directly influences supplier settlement outcomes and partners closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to resolve complex and often high-value claims. The individual will perform both analytical assessments and on-site validation of supplier-held assets, develop defensible valuation ranges, and communicate clear recommendations to stakeholders. Travel requirements up to 30%, primarily within North America with a focus on the Midwest. Job Responsibilities Evaluate supplier cancellation and change-related claims involving capital assets, including tooling, equipment, and facilities Determine fair market value (FMV) of capital assets using appropriate valuation methodologies and available market data Perform benchmarking analysis using comparable assets, cost data, and industry insights to assess the reasonableness of supplier claims Assess asset condition, utilization , and remaining economic life , including depreciation considerations Evaluate alternative use, redeployment, and resale scenarios to determine recoverable value and support settlement recommendations Review supplier claims for contractual alignment , including consistency with purchase orders, contracts, amendments, and termination provisions Assess CAPEX governance and authorization , including asset classification (capital vs. non-capital) and cost structure (labor vs. material, fixed vs. variable) Conduct on-site inspections to validate the existence, condition, and status of supplier-held capital assets Engage directly with suppliers to challenge unsupported, misclassified, or overstated claims using data-driven analysis Partner with Purchasing and Finance to support fact-based negotiation strategies and settlement outcomes Perform detailed analysis and develop clear, well-supported recommendations for management review Prepare concise documentation and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional stakeholders Coordinate with internal audit, field audit, and other cross-functional teams, as applicable
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance , Accounting, Engineering, Supply Chain, or other related discipline Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field such as: Finance, capital investment, industrial operations, purchasing , cost engineering, audit, risk management, accounting, finance Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex financial and technical scenarios Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize across competing demands
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience performing or supporting fair market valuation (FMV) of capital assets, tooling, equipment, or industrial infrastructure Strong benchmarking experience , including use of market data, cost comparisons, or historical analysis to evaluate asset value or pricing Experience evaluating or supporting capital expenditures (CAPEX) , including asset classification, depreciation, and investment analysis Familiarity with industrial equipment, tooling, manufacturing processes, or plant operations Experience reviewing or supporting supplier claims, change orders, or commercial dispute resolution Working knowledge of contracts, purchase orders, and termination provisions , including interpretation of supplier commitments Ability to exercise independent professional judgment in complex, ambiguous, or disputed environments Experience developing or supporting value-based positions (e.g., valuation, pricing, or cost assumptions) in cross-functional or supplier-facing settings Benefits Salaried Employee Benefits (US, Non-Represented) Health & Wellbeing Comprehensive coverages encompassing the Physical, Mental, Emotional, and overall Wellbeing of our employees, including short- and long-term disability.
