The salary range for this position is $6,959.00
- $9,154.
Capital Project Manager II Essential Personnel:
This position is considered to be an essential worker and may be required to work during non-business hours or closures in order to meet operational requirements and needs.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment- Combination of in-office setting, primarily sitting or standing at a desk, and field work throughout Thurston County. Schedule
- Monday
- Friday, 8:00am
- 5:00pm, with the potential option of alternative or compressed schedules and/or remote working after probationary period. Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings and perform work in the field. Customer Interactions
- Daily interactions via phone, in-person, and video with Thurston County staff and the public.

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or another closely related field and four years of related project management experience or other closely related experience. Additional experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar industry recognized certification is highly desired. The ability to operate a computer to keep records and review plans is required. Substantial contact with the public, contractors, and other County departments requires the incumbent to have the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to use computers and related software to successfully perform essential job functions of the position. A current and valid Washington State Driver's License.DESIRED SKILLS
Thorough knowledge of: Construction/Contract Administration; Plans and Specification Development; construction inspection, interior space design/utilization, commercial building code, Public Works law, and local government procedures, Building Systems/Elements including Architecture, Structural, HVAC, Electrical, Security, Water, Gas, and Sewer.
