Job Description
Overview As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in various settings, including homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and comfort, and promoting their overall well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you care for, particularly individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being. Prepare meals and assist with cooking according to dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans. Support clients with mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Engage in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Document patient care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience in caregiving or related fields.
Preferred qualifications include:
First aid and CPR certification. Experience working in home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or assisted living environments. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment. Experience in memory care or dementia care settings is highly desirable. Background in social work or direct support for individuals with disabilities is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for patient mobility assistance.
