Job Description

Grand Industrial is seeking a Senior Industrial Carpentry Manager with a strong background in industrial construction environments and proven leadership experience. This role is not a traditional carpentry position, it is a field-driven leadership role responsible for managing industrial carpentry operations, coordinating multi-craft teams, and ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently. The ideal candidate has risen through the trades industry, understands concrete formwork and structural carpentry, and can successfully lead projects within regulated environments such as food processing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage industrial carpentry scopes including: Concrete formwork Equipment foundations Structural support systems Temporary structures (access, platforms, etc.) Oversee crews across multiple job sites and ensure productivity, safety, and quality Coordinate daily operations with Project Managers, Superintendents, and multi-craft leads Develop and review cost estimates, labor projections, and material requirements Interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and project specifications Track project progress, manpower, and schedule adherence Identify risks and proactively solve field challenges Maintain compliance with: Sanitation and contamination control requirements Facility-specific safety and cleanliness protocols Client and regulatory expectations Coordinate work in active production environments without disrupting operations Enforce strict housekeeping, material handling, and work-zone separation practices Mentor and develop carpentry and multi-craft personnel Establish skill expectations and evaluate trade competency Support recruiting efforts by identifying qualified field talent Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Provide weekly updates on labor needs, project status, and challenges Contribute to bi-weekly workforce and staffing updates Maintain clear communication between field teams and leadership
Required Qualifications:
2+ years in a leadership role within industrial construction Journeyman-level experience in carpentry or related trade OSHA 10 or 30 Certification Experience in managing project costs Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel •Residential carpentry experience alone is not sufficient for this role, but it is welcomed added experience. Industrial/commercial construction experience is required.•
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in food-grade or regulated manufacturing environments Strong background in: Industrial job site operations Concrete formwork systems
Work Environment:
40-50+ hours per week (including weekends as needed) Work may involve travel between industrial project sites in the Newcastle-Logansport area
License/Certification:
Driver's License (Required) Fall Protection Training Aerial Lift / Elevated Work Platform Certification Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Training Confined Space Training Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
