Cash Management Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Management Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports daily cash activity, reconciliations, and issue resolution across multiple partnerships while helping maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across accounting systems, investigating discrepancies, and partnering with internal stakeholders to keep cash processes timely and well documented.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily cash deposit activity for assigned partnerships, confirming transactions are recorded accurately and completed on schedule.
• Review supporting records for deposits to ensure each entry is backed by proper documentation and a clear audit trail.
• Partner with regional finance leaders and local teams to research posting differences and bring discrepancies to resolution.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations in BlackLine, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Record and reconcile intercompany cash movements, including researching unapplied payments and correcting exceptions.
• Respond to inquiries from internal teams and external contacts regarding cash activity, account status, and transaction support.
• Monitor outstanding and voided checks, ensuring follow-up actions are completed and clearing entries are handled correctly.
• Prepare activity logs and reporting that track daily work, highlight trends, and identify opportunities to improve cash management processes. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Previous experience in cash management, treasury, or a closely related accounting function is preferred.
• Working knowledge of bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, journal entries, and cash application processes.
• Experience using BlackLine is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and electronic remittance or cash posting systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to investigate issues independently.
• High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
