Cashier/Customer Service Representative

An automotive service cashier is responsible for handling customer payments, supporting the service department's front counter operations, and providing excellent customer service during vehicle pickup and checkout. Position Summary The Automotive Service Cashier supports the dealership service department by processing customer payments, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring a positive customer experience during vehicle drop-off and pickup. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner Process payments for service, parts, and repair orders Balance daily cash drawer and credit card transactions Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls appropriately File repair orders, invoices, and other service documents Assist service advisors and management with administrative tasks Schedule service appointments when needed Maintain customer waiting area cleanliness and supplies Verify repair orders are completed and properly closed before payment Handle customer questions regarding invoices and payment options Maintain confidentiality of customer and dealership information Follow dealership policies and procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous cashier, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred Automotive dealership experience is a plus Basic computer and phone skills Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment Work Environment Fast-paced automotive dealership service department Interaction with customers, technicians, advisors, and management daily Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match Employee discounts
