00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience About the Role Language on Demand, Inc. is seeking a qualified Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to support the Catholic Community at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. The Coordinator will serve as a resource person, advisor, and program coordinator for Catholic religious education activities. This role will work closely with the Catholic Chaplain, Catholic Priest, or designated chapel representative to plan, coordinate, and support religious education programs for children, youth, volunteers, and the Catholic community. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support Catholic religious education programs, including Children's Church, Pre-K through 8th grade religious education, and pre-sacramental instruction. Support programs for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteer teachers, substitutes, and other program volunteers. Assist with volunteer background check coordination in accordance with applicable Air Force and local procedures. Maintain records of participants and volunteers and submit required reports to the Catholic Priest or chapel leadership. Coordinate classroom setup, supplies, curriculum materials, and scheduling for Catholic religious education events. Attend Parish Advisory Council meetings and contractor staff meetings as required. Plan and coordinate special events, volunteer appreciation activities, and summer religious education programs such as Vacation Bible School, if required. Maintain professional communication with chapel staff, Catholic community members, volunteers, and families. Ensure facilities are properly set up before events and cleaned, secured, and restored after use. Required Qualifications Must be a practicing Catholic. Must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Must possess a valid Catechist Certificate issued by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. Must have a Bachelor's Degree. Must have experience in Catholic theology and catechesis. Must be able to work professionally with chapel staff, volunteers, children, youth, and families. Must be able to complete required background check procedures for work involving regular contact with minors. Must be able to provide documentation supporting education, catechist certification, and relevant Catholic religious education experience upon request. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience coordinating Catholic religious education programs. Experience supporting military chapel programs or parish-based religious education. Experience recruiting and training volunteer teachers or catechists. Familiarity with sacramental preparation programs. Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills. Workload The estimated workload is approximately 1,443 hours per year , or 27.75 hours per week , including scheduled office hours, religious education activities, meetings, parish council participation, and special events.
