Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, ensuring on-time deliveries of freight. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, adhering to safety protocols. Drive various types of trailers including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and freight carriers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports for compliance purposes. Follow route schedules diligently while adjusting to traffic or weather conditions to optimize delivery efficiency. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and special instructions. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions in a commercial setting. Familiarity with driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly preferred. Delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment. Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety regulations related to freight transportation. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting cargo and handling equipment safely. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and customers.
