CDL Yard Jockey

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL Yard Jockey, where you will be the vital link in efficiently managing the movement of freight within our yard and ensuring seamless operations for our trucking fleet. This energetic role requires a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating expert driving skills and a keen eye for safety. As a CDL Yard Jockey, you will expertly maneuver tractor-trailers to facilitate timely loading, unloading, and positioning of trucks across our yard. Your proactive approach will keep our logistics running smoothly and contribute to the overall success of our distribution network. Duties Safely operate manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers to move freight within the yard Load and unload various types of freight, including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers Maneuver trucks with precision using route driving techniques to position trailers for loading or dispatch Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations Maintain accurate logs of vehicle movements, load status, and yard activities Collaborate with warehouse teams to coordinate trailer swaps, staging, and delivery schedules Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Proven experience in truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations and route driving Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and yard operations Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy freight and maneuvering trailers safely Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and drivers Join us as a CDL Yard Jockey and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to moving freight efficiently while maintaining the highest safety standards. Pay:

$23.00 - $24.00 per hour
