Logistics Gate Clerk

Job Summary Join our dynamic logistics team as a Gate Clerk, where you will play a vital role in managing the flow of inbound and outbound shipments at the warehouse gate. This energetic position ensures smooth access control for carriers, vendors, and visitors while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting overall warehouse operations. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help keep our distribution center running efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Verify and authorize entry and exit of carriers, vendors, visitors, and contractors using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners. Conduct thorough inspections of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with safety standards. Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including loading, unloading, and staging freight using forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or load & unload equipment. Support order fulfillment activities such as picking & packing, order picking, stocking, and packaging to meet customer demands. Utilize warehouse management systems like AS400 or MRPs to track inventory movements and update records accurately. Maintain security protocols by monitoring CCTV surveillance and conducting yard audits to prevent theft or unauthorized access. Collaborate with warehouse staff on inventory management tasks including stock rotation, cycle counts, and replenishment for efficient warehouse distribution. Requirements Previous warehouse experience with familiarity in shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, or stock management. Valid forklift certification and experience operating reach trucks or pallet jacks safely. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Basic math skills for counting inventory, calculating weights or measurements, and verifying shipment quantities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and carriers effectively. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items when necessary, and perform manual tasks related to warehouse operations. $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
