Job Description:
Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 223-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area. Contributes to the Hospital's mission to care, to heal, and to excel in service to our community by ensuring that all supplies and equipment needed for patient care is clean and sterile for use. This clinical-support staff position will have an impact on reducing patient harm by reducing the chance of infection and on physician satisfaction by providing the appropriate and accurate equipment and supplies based on physician preferences and requests, to streamline surgical procedures.
Schedule:
40 hours, rotating day and evening shift, including weekend and holiday rotation
JOB FUNCTIONS
As part of the Central Materials Services and Surgical Services teams, this position:

Scans equipment and instruments at each step in the sterilization/packaging process to accurately track equipment throughout the sterilization process and to identify equipment and instruments throughout the hospital organization.

Decontaminates equipment and instruments.

Round hospital units to collect used instrumentation and equipment.

Assembles equipment/instrument sets for use in surgical procedures and providing bed-side patient careSterilizes instruments and sets utilizing various automated methods including steam, ethylene oxide, and other gas methods. Coordinates case chart assembly based on the surgical services schedule. Performs quality assurance, maintains accurate inventory, documents inventory, equipment maintenance.

Pay Range:
$25.00 - $33.65The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
