Job Description Looking for a competent individual that can utilize excellent patient care as an Medical Assistant. The individual we need to join our team needs to have impeccable organizational skills and thrives in a fast paced pediatric environment.
Medical Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer phones as needed and triage appropriately Prepare rooms for the day Escort patients to room; prepare patients for examinations. Record height/weight and blood pressure for well visit; chart and graph findings Ask parent or patient about chief complaint and document Perform vision and hearing screening as necessary Assist doctors as needed with sick visits, as well as well-child visits, school or camp physicals, and paperwork preparation as needed Clean and restock rooms and equipment. Assist as needed with securing referrals and making specialist or test appointments Relay messages as may be required by physicians Assist at front desk as necessary with phones and filing Obtain blood samples if certified by finger stick or venipuncture Urine culture and analysis preparation Prepare for and run CLIA waved laboratory tests as well as CBC Assist providers and nurses with procedures Order and stock supplies Miscellaneous as requested. Provide patient educationEHR Preparation:
Identifies if immunization records are available, if not check online registry If new patient locates old records from filing (or parent) Empties provider "out" basket periodically throughout the day Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock, radiation, and exposure to infectious diseases.Patient Relationships:
Exceptional customer service and problem solving techniques will be used in an attempt to further the patient's overall health and well-being via specialty care referrals.Employee Relations/Team Support:
Receive and process specialty referral orders from providers using the electronic health record system, ensuring timely coordination of specialty care for Pediatric Associates patients.. Documents timely and accurately in the patient's chart so that all members of the care team have access to information regarding the status of the patient's referrals. Actively participates in quality improvement/process improvement activities as requested. Constantly refining the referral process to accommodate new technology to make an overall efficient process.Experience/Skills:
Perform necessary duties required by the Practice Manager to meet clinic goals of providing optimum health care services. Candidate must have a high school diploma or a GED, with preferably one (1) year of experience in a primary healthcare setting. Exceptional organization skills, phone etiquette, flexibility and overall professionalism is required. Incumbent should also be attentive to details, have experience with administrative duties, possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and have knowledge in Microsoft Office. Must be Spanish speaker.Job Type:
