Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide, where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for residents in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. In this vital role, you will administer medications, monitor patient health, and provide compassionate support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or disabilities. Your skills will help create a safe, respectful environment that promotes independence and well-being for every resident. Duties Safely administer prescribed medications following all federal and state regulations, including medication reminders and documentation. Monitor vital signs and observe residents for adverse reactions or changes in condition, reporting findings promptly. Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and feeding for residents with varying levels of independence. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to ensure compliance and continuity of care. Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or hospice care while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Ensure a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and proper medical documentation procedures. Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Aide in accordance with state regulations. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to work compassionately with individuals who have developmental disabilities or are experiencing memory loss due to dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team committed to senior care and hospice support.
