Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration and patient care, ensuring residents receive safe, timely, and effective treatments. Your expertise will support the well-being of individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, providing essential services that promote health, comfort, and dignity. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately to residents or patients following all safety protocols and medical guidelines. Monitor and document vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with daily activities including personal hygiene, mobility support, and basic nursing tasks aligned with your certification. Observe and report changes in residents' conditions, including symptoms of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments. Support specialized care programs such as hospice, palliative care, or memory care units by providing compassionate assistance tailored to individual needs. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient medical records and sensitive information. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and accurate medical documentation. Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Aide or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) recognized by state licensing boards. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures such as catheter care and tube feeding. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation of patient care activities. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease is highly desirable. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic nursing tasks while maintaining a caring attitude. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and medical record management practices.
