Job Description:
In support of SUNY Orange's workforce development strategy, the Workforce Solutions unit is committed to delivering high-impact training programs that strengthen the skills and competencies of the local workforce. As part of this effort, SUNY Orange Plus offers a Certified Nurse Assistant (Aide) program designed to prepare students for careers in healthcare through hands-on training and real-world experience. The Certified Nurses Aide Program Instructor will be responsible for delivering instruction in the Certified Nurse Assistant (Aide) program, ensuring that all content and learning experiences align with NYSED regulations and industry standards. This includes classroom instruction, clinical supervision, and student support throughout the duration of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective instruction in accordance with the approved Nurse Assistant (Aide) curriculum and NYSED requirements Supervise students during clinical experiences at affiliated healthcare facilities Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments to support student learning Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and progress reports Ensure compliance with NYSED regulations during instruction and clinical supervision
Requirements:
Education Required:
Registered Professional Nurse (RN, Associate Degree or Higher)
Experience Required:
Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse with one year working in a nursing home/long term care facility caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill; and must provide documentation of at least one of the following: Certified to teach nurse aide or practical nursing Hold a license as a trade school teacher of nurse aides Have three years of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the Commissioner of Education Have three years of experience teaching nurse aides in residential health care facility Have completed a professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

$35-$38 per hour, teaching 12-16 hours per week during the summer semester with a flexible schedule.
