Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or memory impairments, including Alzheimer's and behavioral health support. Use appropriate aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection. Operate patient lifts such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility needs. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, or post-acute settings to deliver comprehensive patient service. Support patients with complex needs such as infectious disease care or hospice services while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with medical procedures like phlebotomy or basic life support when required and trained. Requirements Valid CNA certification in good standing with the state licensing board. Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care best practices across geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and trauma centers. Experience supporting patients with special needs including developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer's disease or memory care cases. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting using Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers safely and effectively. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving and patient service excellence. Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or infection control are advantageous.
