Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in assisting patients across diverse settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. As a vital member of the therapy team, the COTA will collaborate closely with occupational therapists to implement personalized care plans that promote patient independence and improve quality of life. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys through skilled, patient-centered care. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility, to foster independence and functional ability. Support occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide therapy interventions across various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment usage to enhance ongoing recovery. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment that adheres to all health and safety standards. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes. Requirements Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles relevant to therapy practices. Experience working in home health settings, acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics preferred. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and their relevance to therapy planning is advantageous. Strong understanding of geriatrics and pediatrics populations to tailor interventions appropriately. Proven ability to assist with ADLs and implement care plans effectively across diverse patient groups. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
