Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting occupational therapy services for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will work closely with occupational therapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals, and promote overall health and well-being. A strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care, and physiology is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance functional abilities. Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques to promote independence. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. What we're looking for? Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required. Experience in an inpatient or outpatient clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and pediatric therapy practices is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to occupational health and rehabilitation. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
