Job Description

Seeking a
FULL-TIME
Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of orthopedic experience. Must be proficient in assisting with all types of orthopedic surgery and instrumentation.
Duties include:
▪ Prepares and organizes the operating room with proper equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed for surgical procedures. ▪ Sets up back table, mayo stand, instruments, and supplies. ▪ Follows recommended practices for scrubbing and donning gown and gloves. ▪ Puts gowns and gloves on Surgeons and assistants. ▪ Follows Surgeon preference cards and helps keep preference cards updated. ▪ Assists with cost containment by only opening items that are certain to be used during the procedure. ▪ Checks dates on instruments and supplies before use. ▪ Counts needles and sponges, as appropriate, with Circulator prior to the surgery and before incision closure. ▪ Passes instruments to Surgeon during procedure. ▪ Prepares sterile dressings and assists with cast application. ▪ Demonstrates understanding of aseptic technique and maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure. ▪ Assists other members of the team with terminal cleanup of room in preparation for the next patient. ▪ Uses proper technique for the transport of soiled instruments and supplies to the work area for decontamination. ▪ Assists in maintenance, care, and cleanliness of equipment, instruments, and supplies. ▪ Maintains the sterile and non-sterile supplies and instruments in an orderly fashion. ▪ Ensures the proper handling of sterile items. ▪ Understands the operation and handling of the equipment in central supply. ▪ Prepares and processes contaminated instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization in the manner appropriate for item. ▪ Orders supplies as requested by the Materials Manager. ▪ Assists in maintaining a safe environment for patients. ▪ Observes cost containment practices with effective utilization of time and materials. ▪ Shares and performs assigned duties necessary for operations. ▪ Works in the Sterile Processing Room as needed or requested by the Clinical Director. ▪ Maintains the records of sterilization for each sterilizer.
Pay:
$32.00 - $36.00 per hour
