Job Description
Overview We are a friendly, small animal veterinary clinic looking for a full time certified veterinary technician to join our team. Our certified technician position solely focuses on surgery pets and pets admitted for treatment. The position involves preparing patients for procedures, assisting in surgery, and discharging patients. We work as a team to provide the best care for our patients. Veterinary technician certification is required. Pay commensurate with experience. Must be able to lift 30lbs. Duties Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and administering medications. Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis. Maintain aseptic technique during surgical preparations and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures. Operate X-ray machines to capture high-quality images for diagnostic purposes while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with animal physiology assessments and support critical care cases involving veterinary emergency protocols. Support the directing of kennel operations by caring for hospitalized animals, monitoring their condition, and coordinating pet care routines. Requirements Valid certification as a Veterinary Technician from an accredited program with current licensure or registration where applicable. Proven veterinary technician experience with familiarity in veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Experience working with laboratory equipment, X-ray machines, and performing diagnostic tests such as blood draws or catheterizations. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental health is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations involving veterinary critical care cases. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners on animal care needs.
Pay:
